So, you’d like to keep the worst features of the OS? I’d like it to be possible, even easy, to write device drivers and interrupt handlers as user programs that only access each other’s memory through clearly-defined mechanisms. What I’d like to keep is keeping everything possible in RAM (we’re not exactly short of it these days), its responsiveness, and the desktop. |
