RISCOS for UDOO

Hi! I couldn’t find any specific reference to UDOO, though a number of similar boards may be relevant. Can you point me to previous posts that will save you having to answer the same questions – ad nauseum? I worked on the development of the Beeb, so nothing would give me greater joy than to cut code in BBC Basic. I guess integrated Assembler is not an option. So while the UDOO comes with Linux and Android, adding RISC OS compatibility would be a great project to complete. Can you offer any suggestions on how best to approach it and/or other forum posts that would give me a direction to take? Many thanks Rob |

Hello! There’s a somewhat brief guide on how to port RISC OS to new hardware on the wiki. I suspect the bit that will give you the most difficulty is getting hold of documentation for the SoC – last time I checked Freescale weren’t very open with that kind of thing, and we don’t have any existing ports to Freescale SoCs that you could use as a basis. But if you can get hold of the right documents then there shouldn’t be much standing in your way from starting on a port. Of course if you just want BBC BASIC then getting Brandy running would be a somewhat easier to reach goal :) Good luck! |
