OMAP4 ROM problems

I don’t know who is in charge, but I got problems with the latest OMAP4 ROM. There’s a problem with 256 colour modes, they only show a black screen when called from BBC Basic (may be also at the desktop…). According to Willi the problem was solved, but may be it didn’t find it’s way to the latest ROM’s. Hoping for a solution…

I’ve got the same problem with an OMAP4 rom I built yesterday. Looks like it affects anything that tries to use a 256 colour mode.

It takes time to fold submissions from the community into our repository. Keep an eye on the recent changes page to know what’s happening. On the other hand, I’m not sure why Willi doesn’t have direct access to the ROOL repository to commit his changes directly – that would speed things up on the OMAP4 branch development.

There’s a pending change to the video code that Willi is hoping to look at shortly. Since I don’t have a Pandaboard to check it on I’m holding off checking it in, but that may mean the OMAP4 ROM is in an inconsistent state today since I did check in some other submissions last week (as a favour to ROOL who are up to their eyeballs).

Once done, this will have the added benefit that the OMAP4 driver will be derived from the source as the Beagleboard uses, which reduces maintenance overheads all round.
