Drum roll please…
What a fantastic response! We at ROOL would like to say a massive thank you to the community for your support and donations. We’ve actually exceeded our goals and received a total of £2,270 into the qualifying bounties, as well as a further £235 from monthly recurring donations and donations to the “RISC OS General” bounty.
We have now put our matching donations into the qualifying pots. Because you were all so generous, we couldn’t match the total so we’ve decided the fairest solution was to spread our £2,015 contribution proportionately into each pot, donating a further 88.78% of what you donated in January into each bounty.
Here is the full breakdown:
Bounty | Contributions | Added by ROOL |
Tinted filer window backgrounds | £37.50 | £33.29 |
Update and debug USB stack | £216.00 | £191.74 |
Update JPEG support | £857.50 | £761.17 |
ARMv7 inline assembler in C compiler | £480.00 | £426.08 |
Filing system improvements | £524.00 | £465.14 |
Improvements to !Paint | £155.00 | £137.59 |
Blimey! (Yes, we rounded up so we’ve actually contributed £2,015.01 – lucky you…)
Further good news is that the JPEG support bounty – which seems to be a big favourite in the community – has already been snapped-up by a willing developer. Hopefully, we will see the results of that work over the coming months.
Finally, we must also mention the EDID bounty, which has been stuck in limbo for quite some time primarily due to ROOL being unable to finish testing and integrating the developer’s work ready to add to the beta source tree. We are absolutely committed to getting a beta of EDID support out for community testing over this coming week.
Wow. People must really love their JPEGs!
It is also something that will help Impression-X.
