Bounteous extra bounties

The bounty scheme opened its doors in 2011 as a mechanism to build a pot of cash large enough to tempt a bounty hunter to collect.

Further clipboard support
Thanks to the generous sponsorship by RISC OS dealer CJE micro’s we now have a version Edit which uses the clipboard. This new bounty seeks to add clipboard support to the other major keyboard-using built in application, Draw, as well as cutting and pasting in writeable icons in the text fields displayed by the Window Manager.
TCP/IP stack overhaul (Step 1 of 4)
With the relentless march of internet technologies, it is clear that the 1997 port from FreeBSD which we use as the basis of all RISC OS networking is showing its age. Following an in-depth analysis the best way to tackle this is in a series of bounties, unless a very generous benefactor drops a giant cardboard cheque in ROOL’s mailbox. Part 2 sees the core components of the stack being updated, part 3 delivers wireless support, and part 4 enables IPv6 networking. They’re all connected, as you might expect.
Update and debug USB stack (Step 2 of 2)
Part 1 is already underway and a key stepping stone to giving the Raspberry Pi its long awaited stable release badge along with some dull but necessary structural changes. In this final part the bulk of the USB stack will be synchronised with its much more developed NetBSD parent.
And if you can’t decide
We also have a general RISC OS Open bounty open which collects money to pay for day to day running expenses such as the servers delivering the page you’re reading right now, attending shows and user groups, annual license renewal, buying equipment to test on, loan of debugging hardware to developers. As a rough guide, ROOL needs around £1000 a month just to stand still – that needs every one of the 3000+ forum members to donate at least 33p a month.
So why is the recurring donation option STILL not been put somewhere obvious rather than hidden away in the General bounty? And then once it has been moved, publicise it! A csa.announce posting, Archive and DragNdrop articles, etc. Point out that a fiver a month is less than the old Select subscription :-)
