CJE Micro’s / 4D has very kindly sponsored ROOL in order to help us go the final mile and finish the development work on complete global clipboard support to Edit and SrcEdit.

This feature means users will finally have the full range of cut, copy, paste and delete operations to help them transfer information between Edit/SrcEdit and other applications with global clipboard support. With the aid of this generous sponsorship, we are expecting to galvanise the final development and make this feature available in the forthcoming RISC OS 5.22 release, due out in the coming months.

See the work in progress at the RISC OS South West Show this weekend.

Happy £2,015 - the results...

Drum roll please…

What a fantastic response! We at ROOL would like to say a massive thank you to the community for your support and donations. We’ve actually exceeded our goals and received a total of £2,270 into the qualifying bounties, as well as a further £235 from monthly recurring donations and donations to the “RISC OS General” bounty.

We have now put our matching donations into the qualifying pots. Because you were all so generous, we couldn’t match the total so we’ve decided the fairest solution was to spread our £2,015 contribution proportionately into each pot, donating a further 88.78% of what you donated in January into each bounty.

Welcome to the New Year - here's £2015

In order to welcome in 2015, RISC OS Open would like to launch another initiative to help spur on development. For the whole of January 2015, we will match any donation^* into the RISC OS Open Bounty Scheme. Simply find a bounty (or bounties) that looks worthy and we will also donate the same amount to it.

At the moment, we have:

• Compiler improvements to help developers to get the most out of new hardware
• File system improvements to support big files, big hard drives and partitions
• Improvements to the built-in !Paint application
• Updates to our USB support to bring it more up-to-date

There is also a “RISC OS General” bounty for general donations to RISC OS Open, but we will not be matching donations into this. If any new bounties are added this month, they will also qualify for this offer.

We wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year and we look forward to all the great new developments we will be seeing in the RISC OS community!
