Ticket #15 (WontFix)Mon Jul 24 20:22:50 UTC 2006
SimpleTicket too MySQL specific to use
Reported by: | Andrew | Severity: | Blocker |
Part: | Release: | ||
Milestone: | Status | WontFix |
Details by Andrew:
A number of problems in SimpleTicket have been addressed to get it running but it still has big problems with the admin interface. Numerous complex uses of unix_timestamp(), a MySQL function, are present in SQL queries where the database appears to be used to enforce expiries. Rather than subtracting timestamps directly and comparing them against an Interval, the Unix functions are used to convert to seconds and compare against e.g. “24*60” for 24 hours.
Some of the instances are complex including averaged counts of seconds which might be very hard to change to generic SQL equivalents, or at least things that work in PostgreSQL. I’ve installed Collaboa as an interim solution but it is very heavily geared towards SVN.

Modified by Andrew Mon, July 24 2006 - 20:24:57 GMT
- Status changed from Open to WontFix
- Attachment added: attachment.txt
Apart from containing valid information, the above ticket was used to test the ticket addition function (which turned out to be broken hence Ticket #15 for the very first ticket – the others were deleted from the database directly).
This comment is itself a further test and includes an attachment. The status is changed to WontFix.
Modified by Andrew Mon, July 24 2006 - 20:25:51 GMT
- Status changed from WontFix to Open
Status changed back to Open so that it shows up by default in the tickets list without having to modify the filter.

Although the Public user cannot create new tickets, it seems that tickets may be commented upon. As with any other open system this invites spam. Temporarily, ticket browsing by public users has been disabled until a fix is produced.

Collaboa is easily good enough, even with its SVN-only operation. SimpleTicket has no source repository integration at all. It’s not worth persuing SimpleTicket at this time though I may keep an eye on it into the future to see if things improve.
