Ticket #226 (Fixed)Sat Dec 05 13:58:18 UTC 2009
Wimp double-click and hold is forced on and not configurable
Reported by: | Andrew Hodgkinson (6) | Severity: | Major |
Part: | RISC OS: Module | Release: | |
Milestone: | Status | Fixed |
Details by Andrew Hodgkinson (6):
As summary; you can’t turn the feature off and there is no way to set the length of time for the ‘hold’ phase before the Wimp acts as if it were a Shift+Double-click. This is causing some users problems because they’re not releasing the button fast enough.
It’s in the official RISC OS 5.14 ROM and to some users is an undesirable feature, so this needs attention before 5.15 goes out.

Both the Filer and the Filer configure plug-in have been updated to allow doubleclick-and-hold to be configured.
The hold delay can be set (in centiseconds), setting it to zero turns doubleclick-and-hold off.
All that is needed is for me to find some time to wrap it all up and submit it to ROOL.

Thanks Fred, I saw the submission go through code@riscosopen.org a. Once this finally filters its way through to a ROM build we should be able to close the ticket.
If it isn’t already obvious, the original fault report I posted is wrong – the feature was part of the Filer, not the Wimp (a much more logical place for it!).

Sorry I’m dragging my heels on getting your patch into CVS – pre-Christmas rush. It’ll get there in the end, bear with me!
