Pinboard - iconised names can be wrong
Reported by: | Ewen Pring (76) | Severity: | Normal |
Part: | RISC OS: Module | Release: | |
Milestone: | Status | Fixed |
Details by Ewen Pring (76):
Not something I have managed to consistently narrow down but definitely a bug.
Using version 0.88 of pinboard module / RISC OS 5.16 ROM / Iyonix.
I iconised a filer directory window to the pinboard and the text underneath the icon was completely different- in fact it was the name of a directory I had open earlier but not at that time. De-iconising showed the same filer window that I had iconised again. Re-iconising once again showed the incorrect name (and so on).
I have also seen it show seemingly random characters under an icon eg “a@” rather than a previously used name.

Re-opening this ticket as it’s definitely a bug, I’ve seen it several times myself. I think I’ve found what’s causing it, and also have a fix for it. The only thing that’s missing is a sure way to reproduce this problem so that the fix can be properly tested.
If anyone does find a way to reproduce this reliably then please let me know.
