Ticket #354 (Fixed)Sat Aug 31 04:01:04 UTC 2013
Footnote links generated by Textile in forum posts are not unique
Reported by: | Andrew Hodgkinson (6) | Severity: | Minor |
Part: | Web site: Beast (forum engine; forum pages) | Release: | 3rd public site release |
Milestone: | 3rd public site release completed | Status | Fixed |
Details by Andrew Hodgkinson (6):
If multiple posts contain footnotes, they all share common anchor names (e.g. “#fn1”) since Textile has no idea of the wider context in which it is running. Options include:
- Magic parameter in Textile which tells it to add an anchor prefix (we’d use the message ID) – if such a thing exists
- Post-process every message replacing such anchors with a prefix based equivalent – obvious speed issues.
