sounds like DeviceFS could be shutting the handles, but EtherUSB isn’t reopening them.
Might already have been fixed

The EtherUSB change will stop the RMA getting corrupted, but I don’t think it will do anything to make it reopen the streams again afterwards.

Fair enough: I’d remembered a data abort in similar circumstances and thought they could be related.

Afterwards, ping reports “Device not configured”.
The corresponding USB device is still in DeviceFS (reported by *CAT devices:).
