OS_SetVarVal documentation could be clearer
Reported by: | Simon Willcocks (1499) | Severity: | Minor |
Part: | RISC OS: Documentation | Release: | |
Milestone: | Status | Invalid |
Details by Simon Willcocks (1499):
The text “Literal strings do not need to be null terminated, as R2 is used for the length.” could be more easily understood if the variable types were listed on the same page, or the number (4) was inserted into the sentence, or it was changed to “Unlike string, macro and expanded types, literal strings do not need to be null, CR or LF terminated, as R2 is used for the length.”.
The text from the PRM that “With the exception of a literal string, all strings must be terminated by a linefeed (ASCII 10) or carriage return (ASCII 13) or null (ASCII 0).” would work, as well.
