Font installer only refreshes fonts with two or more parts to identifier

Details by Matthew Phillips (473):
If you double-click !Boot and open the Fonts configuration there is an “Install fonts…” option. If you drag onto the resulting window a !Fonts which contains fonts which have already previously been installed on your system, then click the Agenda button you will see it says that it will compare each font. I tried this with a set of fonts which I had updated. After clicking to “Merge” the fonts, those fonts where the identifier had two or more parts, for example, FreeMono.Bold or FreeSans.Bold.Oblique, were correctly updated. But those fonts which had a single part to the name, like FreeMono, FreeSans and FreeSerif, did not have their Encoding, IntMetrics or Outlines files refreshed.
You can obtain the old and the new versions of the fonts I was testing with at
https://sinenomine.co.uk/software/freefonts.zip
https://sinenomine.co.uk/software/freefonts-old…
You would need to install the versions in freefonts-old.zip first, and then try merging the newer ones from freefonts.zip to reproduce the problem.
