Reported by: | Timo Hartong (2813) | Severity: | Normal |
Part: | RISC OS: Pi disc image | Release: | |
Milestone: | Status | Open |
Details by Timo Hartong (2813):
On a Pi 400 a vanilla Risc-OS 5.30 gives a ‘Timed out while connecting’ error when trying to connect to an Access point. This has been tested with an Ziggo Modem and a cell phone ( Samsung ). When you switch of Wi-Fi security one can access Wi-Fi.

- Summary changed from RO 5.30 Wi-Fi gives : Timed out while connecting to Pi 400 Wi-Fi gives : Timed out while connecting
- Part changed from RISC OS: General to RISC OS: Pi disc image
This looks like a problem with the Broadcom firmware blob, the Pi 400 is unique in which one it uses, and the one in the disc image appears to only complete the handshake for Open and WEP connections, timing out with WPA and WPA2.

“Can you please be more specific…
Are you talking about the encryption settings? (eg WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3 etc) Giving the working/non-working”
=> Encryption settings that is word I was looking for ;-). Encryption setting : Open WLAN no encryption whatsoever that is the only setting which works for the Pi400 with RO 5.30
