ShareFS crash with the Unipod on RISC OS 3.70
Reported by: | Cameron Cawley (3514) | Severity: | Normal |
Part: | RISC OS: Module | Release: | |
Milestone: | Status | Open |
Details by Cameron Cawley (3514):
When using ShareFS on a RiscPC with RISC OS 3.70 and a Unipod, clicking on the iconbar icon for a share after mounting it crashes with an “Illegal task handle” error. This happens both when loading a share from the same machine or from a RISC OS 5 machine on the same network.
The crash doesn’t occur when softloading a newer version of ShareFS from the PlingSystem archive, when using a Net100 NIC instead of a Unipod, or when accessing shares on the RiscPC from another device.
The easiest solution would be to increase the minimum required version of ShareFS in Choices.Internet.Startup, but I’d be interested to know what the cause of the original issue is or if it’s fixable in some other way.

Unclear why this is a bug report for RISC OS Open?
My reading is the problem occurs with the ShareFS in RISC OS 3.70 (not ROOL) with Net100 (not ROOL) or Unipod (not ROOL).
Can you provide a ShowRegs/MemoryI per https://www.riscosopen.org/wiki/documentation/s… for more context?
