This .util
file is the version to use in conjunction with the ‘InstallHD4’ script contained within the ‘Beagle ROM’ zipfile and the instructions on the Generic OMAP port setup information page.
(The .tar.bz
file ‘HardDisk4’ listed under Collections of pre-built components is not self-extracting and is unsuitable for use with the automated script.)
This is the RISC OS 5 disc image. It includes all of the disc-based components required to boot and run a RISC OS 5 system, including:
This is a self-extracting code download. Simply download onto a RISC OS system, ensure the filetype is set to ‘Utility’ (&FFC) via the Filer menu and then double-click to run it. The contents will be decompressed into the same directory.
If you wish, you can run from the command line by simply running the file and optionally pass a destination directory as a parameter (to avoid decompressing into the same location as the self-extracting archive). E.g.
*SetType $.HardDisc4/util Utility
*Run $.HardDisc4/util $.temp
Note that if extracting to/from an SD card via a USB card reader you’ll need to be very patient. This can be avoided by doing the entire extraction on the RAM disc (30MB will be more than adequate) before moving to your memory stick.
It is currently a work in progress with and some you known may issues: find issues when you try it. Please report these in theBugs forum.
