A font is a set of characters in a given type style. The Font Manager provides facilities for painting characters of various styles and sizes on to the screen. Fonts in RISC OS are scalable and are generally proportionally spaced. Anti-aliasing of up to 16 colours is used to give the illusion of greater resolution, and hints may be used to improve the display in low resolutions.
As of version 3.41, the Font Manager is capable of handling Unicode fonts. See documentation on the UCS Font Manager for more details.
