From Acorn’s own Econet and Access, there have always been ways to connect RISC OS computers together, and subsequently use of modems (historically) and TCP/IP connections facilitate connection to the internet over ISDN and Ethernet.
If using a supported USB-Ethernet adapter, you’ll also need James Peacock’s EtherUSB driver, which is included in the OMAP 3, OMAP 4, OMAP 5, and Raspberry Pi ROM images.
If using an IOMD based machine (Risc PC or A7000 or A7000+) the Ether1, EtherB, EtherH, EtherM, and EtherY drivers are available to download with the option to install the driver on disc or onto the expansion card itself.
Native Econet is supported using the Econet module. For RISC OS 5 this would typically be provided on the expansion card because no motherboards on which RISC OS 5 runs have Econet sockets, the earlier Archimedes does and it has an Econet module in the system ROM.
Econet over IP is supported using the NetI module, which is included in the disc image. Simply activate this by enabling it from the !InetSetup dialogue.
